About Us

The Virgin Islands Department of Education’s Office of Public Relations and Communications exists to heighten the public’s awareness of the Department’s mission to ensure that all students are prepared for college or the career of their choice upon graduation from high school.

In support of the mission, the Public Relations Office provides publicity for events, activities and the many successes of the Department’s schools, students, teachers, employees and leadership through internal and external communication.

The Office of Public Relations and Communication, through an integrated marketing communications approach services the marketing, branding, public, and media relations, advertising and graphic design needs of the Department, districts, and schools.

The Public Relations Office reports directly to the Commissioner of Education.

First Marking Period Report Card Distribution Announced

ST. THOMAS, USVI – The Virgin Islands Department of Education has announced the First Marking Period report card distribution dates for the two school districts.

St. Thomas-St. John District

Report cards will be distributed electronically Oct. 20-22, 2021. Parents are asked to contact their children’s school now to register on the Parent Portal or to update their information on the online platform. Report cards will not be distributed in person.

St. Croix District

Report cards will be distributed in person at each school Oct. 25-28, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Masks are required and social distancing will be enforced. Electronic copies of report cards will also be emailed to parents.

St. Croix Human Resources, Payroll Teleworking Due to Defective Air Conditioning ST. CROIX, USVI – The Virgin Islands Department of Education Human Resources and Payroll offices on St. Croix will be closed, until further notice, due to defective air conditioning.

Employees will telework during the closures and can be reached via email. Calls may also be routed to the St. Thomas offices at (340) 774-0100.
