Mathematics Behind the Science
The Math behind the Science program is a six week residential program on UVI’s St. Thomas campus for graduating 12th grade students from all three islands that wish to pursue a STEM degree and will enroll in a college/university in the fall.
The Math behind the Science program is a six week residential program on UVI’s St. Thomas campus for graduating 12th grade students from all three islands that wish to pursue a STEM degree and will enroll in a college/university in the fall. Preference is given to those attending UVI. The main goal of the program is to enhance the mathematics skills of the participants and especially prepare them for Calculus (a very important college course for any STEM major). The program provides courses in Computer Programming, Scientific Reading and Writing, as well as College Preparedness.
The program is of no cost to the students and their parents. Special funding will provide tuition, books, housing, meals, and airfare (if applicable).
The application is due May 15th. Students from St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John are all eligible to apply.
