In-Person Classes Resume at Claude O. Markoe Elementary On Sept. 14

ST. CROIX, USVI – The Claude O. Markoe Elementary School will resume in-person classes following early dismissal on Monday, due to a power outage that affected most of the campus.

WAPA crews were dispatched to the Frederiksted school to resolve the issue, which resulted from overgrown vegetation on an electric pole that caused a fuse to blow.

Classes were conducted virtually for the remainder of the school day.

The Department of Education thanks faculty, staff, parents, and students for their flexibility as the matter was resolved.
