URGENT ALERT: THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2024 PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE ST. THOMAS-ST. JOHN SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL EXPERIENCE DELAYED START DUE TO POWER OUTAGE

In the St. Thomas-St. John District (STTJ), public school operations are currently affected by a WAPA power outage, leaving all school sites without access to electricity and potable water. As a result, all schools in the STTJ District will experience a delayed start to begin at 9:00 am.

This current electrical interruption is an ongoing situation, and the Virgin Islands Department of Education is actively monitoring. Adjustments will be made regarding school bus pick-ups.

The public is kindly asked to stay updated by monitoring VIDE platforms regarding any changes regarding school operations.
